Rex Masai showed us the way

Freedom has never been easy to find

Dedan Kimathi paid the price

Muthoni Nyanjiru showed us that it is only through courage

Hating oppression

And unmeasurable amount of love

Shall we win in this struggle

The Kenya Land and Freedom Army (Mau Mau) paved the way

Laid the foundation

Mwakenya showed us that even in the midst of dictatorship we can still organize

The June uprisings in Kenya showed us that the people can and shall win

Everyone has a role to play in the struggle

And that the struggle should be in all the fronts

It’s our time to write history

It’s our mission to finish what Mau Mau started

It’s our mission to oust the Kenya Kwanza regime from power

It’s our mission to make Kenya work for the people, not for the rich

It’s our mission to liberate our land and our food

It’s our mission to achieve freedom

It’s us to realize the dreams of our independence

Let’s beat the drums of revolution

Let’s sing and choreograph a dance

Let’s write poetry and recite it in the streets

Let’s write articles and books

Let’s create theatre of the oppressed people

Let’s create revolutionary murals

Let’s paint the streets red

Let’s create a revolution
