When Kenya promulgated the 2010 Constitution eleven years ago, an avalanche occurred, one that shifted power from the palms of a power obsessed cabal and placed it back in the hands of the people. This boldly decreed that all sovereign power belongs to the people. Unfortunately, the greedy lot in power missed the memo and the spirit behind our constitution, completely refusing to live by this spirit and audaciously attempting to revert the will of the people by introducing illegalities like the BBI, white elephant projects, wanton borrowing and foolish debt. Today, one year on after the pandemic hit the country our economy is at its knees with Kenyans losing their livelihoods, paying heavy taxes and fighting a pandemic that has been heavily militarized and turned into a cash cow for the dealers in power. The response of the cabals in power has been to drown Kenyans deeper into the debt trap.
The IMF, recently announcing approval of a further KES 225 billion adds salt to injury. It will be remembered that last year at the peak of the pandemic, Kenya received huge amounts of donations and loans that ended up in the pockets of a few in what is now known as the
#CovidBillionaires. Not even one thief has been brought to book till now, despite presidential musings.
We at Kongamano La Mageuzi, a united front of progressive individuals, organizations and political parties join Kenyans in condemning the senseless borrowing by the thieving administration in power. We call out the regime’s readiness, collaboration and activity of working with the IMF Global Shylock to tighten the shackles of debt slavery on Kenyans’ hands, necks and feet. As a servant of neo-colonialism imperialism, the thieving cabals in power have lost every dot of legitimacy to continue claiming the honour of the Government of Kenya.
It is not lost to KLM that just the other day the president in an interview with a local vernacular station shamelessly admitted to a 2 billion heist everyday under his watch, a clear indication of his totally and irredeemably failed leadership especially on the war against corruption. Kenyans are done trusting wolves to watch over their sheep; hyenas playing sentry to our goats.
It is very unfortunate that at this time when a strong opposition to keep the government of the day in check and be the voice of the masses is critical, Kenya finds itself in an awkward spot after the official opposition, sustained by our taxes, jumped into bed with the looters joining the train of oppression, thuggery and dictatorship that the Jubilee government runs. Oppression breeds revolt. KLM now fills the void and continues to call all Kenyans to be the opposition that works to remove the thieving networks from power; to join our movement in this quest to totally liberate ourselves from the shackles of oppression.
We resist any further attempts to drive our beloved country into the hands of imperialists through foolish borrowing. We register a warning to the imperialists and their local collaborators; the home guards in power, that gone are the days when they could take our sovereignty and the people of Kenya for granted. Down with IMF Shylocks! Down with their local agents and collaborators!
Kenyans have spoken in one voice especially on the confirmation of the IMF loan that is to be disbursed in phases starting this week. If the dealers in power ignore these calls, they shall be pronouncing themselves against the will of Kenyans. The waveform resistance is unstoppable, the time is ripe, and we must take back the reigns of our country. KLM in solidarity with all Kenyans demands the following:
1) That the president and his cronies find other sustainable means to pay up the debts they have borrowed and squandered and not tie our country further to the IMF Shylock leashes.
2) That all the Covid billionaires be brought to book and all stolen public money amount recovered.
3) Having failed Kenyans and betrayed our sovereignty; the resignation of the Jubilee administration and planning for early elections, under an interim, independent election management agency and in which any and all individuals adversely mentioned in corruption scandals and driving our country to ruin shall not be eligible to contest.
Kongamano La Mageuzi continues to encourage national conversation and action for alternative political leadership in Kenya. We shall continue to passionately put our efforts towards achieving this dream every day.
We believe in a Kenya that is devoid of corruption, anti-people governance and autocracy. We dream of a country with a government in power that doesn’t vomit on the dignity, livelihoods and integrity of its people.
We act because we believe it is in power as free citizens to change our story. We must change our story. We therefore invite all progressive Kenyans to join us in the journey of removing from power a political class and union that hates its people. We can become a Nation that loves respects and serves its citizens. Raise your voices and take action to free our motherland.
God Bless Kenya. The struggle is on.
